Peter is a Senior…

Seems the years have just flown by...sometimes faster than I want them to be...and other times not so quick:) Pete will graduate this year, thinks he is king of his own house, which is ours...we agree to disagree...but for the most part he is an every day normal joe type of 17 year old. He is much more interested in being social this year...still is working at the bike shop and for the Park and Rec refereeing soccer for the lil kids. Busy is what its about...in a good way.

Lots going on during the senior year...kind of like a wedding in my opinion, way over rated in the cost and expensive for these young kids. Not sure what families do that cant afford the cap and gowns and tassels and rings and announcements and pictures and tux’s and and and...the list goes on. It is a racket to graduate and so...I took Pete’s and a few other Senior Pics myself. No way in heck I was paying the standard $700.00 to have a local company here in town do it.

Pete wanted the pictures to be about him...simple and kind. Easy going and no worries most of the time. He is a way laid back kid, sometimes it drives me crazy to get him moving...but he has a heart of gold. Always the first to help others, when askedSmile.

He plans on going to college, just not sure where yet, wants to go into the medical field...I am thinking maybe he needs to focus on tasks at hand first...he agreed and told me he kind of likes living at home:) Maybe a local college for the first couple of years to get his basic courses done. He has never been the one to think much about cost when it comes to our pocket book...but he is growing up and I can see it. Wow that was a shocker...nice to here but also so looking forward to Mike’s and my time alone!

Whatever Pete decides, I want him to follow his dreams…with one foot on the ground. If he can take one thing from us it is this:

Pete you are lucky to be brought up loved. Not that everything you have done is liked. But you know that you are loved...and knowing this has given you the ability and freedom to be who you want to be…

You’re a good boy Petey and we luv you. Have you told your kid you luv them today? It’s really the most important thing a parent can give their kid...don’t you agree…
