Summertime in August…

Random thoughts on a beautiful day.  Its Tuesday, the house is quite and I am heading out to the sunshine. Yep, I think people that stay inside in air conditioned homes have it all wrong:) My windows are open, the warm breeze moves in and out and my days are filled with being outside as much as possible.  Most days start off with a power walk with Robyn...some days start off with a bike ride with Chloe.

If your thinking that I ride up my hill, I don’tSmile I park at the bottom and ride from there. Some things I just don’t want to do anymore, that is one of them.

We rode along the lake...early up it always is...Chloe was suppose to go for a run and instead got stuck with me. We haven't spent much time together this summer...she is growing and her friends are a lot more fun:) as it sound be.

When I tell her to wait for me...I get pictures like this..yep she wasn’t so hip on riding with me...but I had promised her food at the end of the morning ride, she had no choice.

I ignored her...sometimes a good thing to do with a teenager...and continued on my way.  No way was she going to ruin my sunshine day! I try not to live in a sugar coated world...my kids are most the time nice to me...and sometimes they act like they are two:)  I am allowed to say that, right? We stopped at Down the Street and had breakfast, Chloe was happy with her super sized Pecan Roll, we enjoyed our company with some dear friends... the morning was complete.

I know that these kids of mine are growing up quick...Peter will be a senior this year and Chloe has been taking drivers ed. I am trying like crazy to make sure the memories of their youth will always be engraved into their brains. I don’t know if it is for me or for them that I want their thoughts about growing up in CDA to be a memory like no other.  After all, good memories will last a life time. Yep, summertime growing up in a town such as ours with a lake... boating... bike paths... running paths... just doesn’t get any better.  At least that’s what I remember…
