In Memory…and a Memory…

Oh my…I got an early call this am from my dear friend Dawn. We have this wonderful friendship called texting:) Yep she is busier than I am, with raising grandkids, kids of her own, working, and everything in between. But when one of us sees a friend in need, we are both johnny on the spot.  The text I got was about our friend Kathy…her mom had just passed away from Alzheimers Disease. The funeral was today at 10:00 so of course we were going. See its what friends do…at least in my book.  We have all grown up together…spent many a days at each others homes when we were younger…and even though your own lives sometimes drift apart…I still know that we are all connected at the hip. Today was one of those days.  It was a nice service, she was a beautiful lady.

On the thing they hand out at the church, it talked about After Glow:  “I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one, I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles, when day is done. I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, of happy times and laughing time and bright and sunny day.”

It touched my heart…but I think what touched our friends Kathy’s heart…was that us four girls had showed up to show our love and support during this very hard time for her.

So I have been thinking about life a lot today…and have concluded this:

“In The End, What effects your life most deeply are things too simple to talk about”.  Yep the small things are always the most important…
