Lovely, times one billion…that’s the best way that I can describe in ten words or less how Chloe’s first season of track for high school has went. The 3200 meter race seems to be her thing…at every meet she has improved her time…but more important she has been enjoying this season…the new friends…the bus rides…being a 14 year old…and letting me know with no uncertain terms that she is “More than a runner”. So what is important to a 14 year old girl name Chloe…I have often asked myself that question a thousand times this year.
1. It is very important to stay relaxed…and act your age:)
2. It is very important to have a good start…and not let the big girls worry you:)
3. It is very important to sprint for the finish…this is the 1600 meter race…just a warm up for the 3200…
4. It is very important to have family support…hence Peter the big brother…Papa, aka the dad…Grandma…aka the giver of $20.00…Uncle Mike…aka the time keeper and tootsie roll giver:)
Chloe had a 5th place finish in the 1600… here she is warming up for the 3200 meter race. It was another cold day…
Back to my very important questions…
5. It is very important to make sure you are positive…laugh a bit…and support your friends…
Chloe’s friend Scott…and his first year at the high jump….we happen to thing the world of Scott:) Race of the day for Chloe…the 3200 is next…best day ever…at least that is what I think…which comes to the next number of importance…
6. It is very important to make sure you race in neon colors…it makes it fun and shows that you have style:)
7. It is very important that you don’t wear sunnies on a cloudy day…it just looks goofy and doesn’t make you faster…unless you are Cody Helbling, a super fast track star friend of ours:)
8. It is very important to laugh and smile at the end of your race…after all you are only 14….
Chloe had another great race. 4th place with a time of 13:04 at the Christina Finney Meet at Post Falls, March 24th…just wait…she has gotten a tad faster as the season has continued…so much fun…times a billon…
